Welcome to the Southdown Branch of the British Sugarcraft Guild

The British Sugarcraft Guild was inauguarated on the 17th March 1981. Branches have formed throughout the country, plus individual members around the world. There are eight regions and the Southdown Branch, which was formed in 1982, is in region 8.

The aims and objectives of the Guild are:
  • To promote and stimulate interest in sugarcraft as an art form.
  • To share knowledge.
  • To develop and improve standards.

The Guild, from time to time, hold various exhibitions throughout the country, which provide opportunities to visit other regions and meet members form other branches. They usually have demonstrations, competitions and trade stands selling a variety if sugarcraft items

Locally the Southdown Branch hold regular evening meetings, where we usually have a variety of demonstrations or hands on workshops. We try to cater for all abilities.
